This year’s event was particularly meaningful. The week before, on Thursday, Oct. 13, the Hearth formally relocated to its new facility at 19 Valley Road in Middletown, placing the mothers and children it serves in a vastly upgraded facility. Board Chair Susan Erstling and Program Director Jenn Barrera both recognized the volunteers and members who are the lifeblood of the organization, and paid tribute to the mothers and children who have made the Hearth a home over the past 32 years.

Pat Coussa accepted the Susan M. Wilson Volunteer of the Year award that was given to the "Friends of Lucy's Hearth.”
