Journey Dance

Led by Reverend Jennifer Pedrick, the priest at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, this event is meant to be a journey of healing through dance and expressive movement. It will take place at St. Mary’s parish house, 324 East Main Road, Portsmouth, Friday, June 8, from 6-7 p.m. No dance experience necessary. The cost is $10. Register at yogishelley@gmail.com.

Strawberry Festival

‘Our Daily Bread’ Ministry

June Fair and Donations

Central Baptist Church, 99 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown, is seeking donations to its June festival to be held on Saturday, June 16, from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Wood or wicker furniture, paintings, marine and boating items, toys, games, puzzles, working small appliances, plants and garden equipment, jewelry, gently used household items, antiques, vintage sports equipment and small or medium-size rugs may be dropped off at the church from 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday, June 9. Yard Sale

Newport County Young Life is seeking donations of household goods for a yard sale on Saturday, June 9. Proceeds will be used for scholarships to send teen moms and their children, along with caregivers, to summer camp in New York. Donations of furniture, kitchen and dining items, toys, decorations, tools and more (no clothes or books) are welcomed. Youth Weekend June 8

“The Success of Teamwork” is the theme for the Youth Weekend offered June 8 to 10 at the Community Baptist Church Annex. On Friday, from 6 to 9 p.m., there will be the Friday Night Live program of music, movies, fellowship/outreach, food and fun. A lock-in will follow for those 10 to 17 years old. Saturday activities run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and include teambuilding games and a cook-out. The weekend will conclude on Sunday with a youth-led worship service at 10 a.m. at Community Baptist, 40 Dr. Marcus F. Wheatland Blvd. All activities free. Lawn Party

Clam Boil Cancelled

Garden Party

St. Columba’s Chapel, 55 Vaucluse Ave., Middletown, will hold its annual garden party on Saturday, June 9, from 1-5 p.m. There will be fun for all ages, plant and book sales, a flower festival, food, a choir concert, silent auction, petting zoo, pony rides and more. A Devonshire cream tea will have seatings on the hour between 1 and 4 p.m. for $15. A Hogwarts themed children’s tea (ages 4-and-over) will have seatings at 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. for $5. Healing Service

St. Lucy’s Church, 909 West Main Road (Route 114), will hold a Healing Service, June 13, 6:30 p.m., in the church. The service will be conducted by LaSalette Father Andre Patenaude, known for his gift of inspirational music that lifts the spirit and touches the soul. Trinity Volunteers

Trinity Church is seeking volunteers to welcome visitors and give tours. If you can spare three hours a week, enjoy meeting people from near and far, have good communication skills, and like history and architecture, consider training to become a tour guide at Trinity Church. Becoming a Self-Reliant and Resilient Family

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Chapel, 177 Miantonomi Ave., Middletown, continues its series of one-hour classes designed to help military couples, single servicemen and women, families dealing with work-related separation, and leaders who interact with them.
