Newport’s Chris Hosking and Jamestown’s Jeff McCooey were aboard the winning boat, Charisma. Also racing was class regular Cameron Appleton from Middletown on Aqua, and a new resident to Newport, Dean Barker on Nika.

Charisma finished on equal points with the Swedish-flagged Artemis Racing and took the top podium spot by capturing three top finishes to Artemis’ two. Nika finished just two points behind, in third place.

“We’re happy with another win,” said Hosking, who was the main sail trimmer. “We won the opening regatta of the season in Lanzarote, had a small slip-up in Portoroz and are back to form here in Marstrand. We started the regatta poorly and were second to last after [the first day], so it [was] a grinding effort from our team to be leading by one point going into the last race. We had to control our opposition in the last race to close out the victory.”
