In the July 2 edition of Newport This Week, in "Council Revisits Coyotes Issue," we incorrectly paraphrased Middletown Police Chief Anthony Pesare as saying that residents could call the Department of Environmental Management and request that coyotes be relocated. Correction: residents should call the police department to report coyotes if the coyotes appear unafraid (for example, are following people), or otherwise seem to be a threat to people or pets, and the police department may choose to contact the Department of Environmental Management to take further actions, one of which could be relocation.
